Wow! It is hard to believe it has only been 2 weeks. In lab, I have learned how to do a head-to-toe assessment, take blood pressures, do a health history, and tomorrow, it will be how to administer oral and topical medications in a clinical setting.
Today, I was able to go with 4 other nursing students to a Senior Center where the seniors come for activities. We had one person to do a health history and foot assessment on. It was a lot of fun. I was so nervous before I went, but something just kicked in when I started talking to the people. We then just sat down and did blood pressures. It was a great experience.
One more thing...the nurse with us let us practice on each other taking our blood sugar levels. That was very cool. If anyone is interested, my level was 81.

Wow! You're having so much fun too. (I know, I would say that! It will be my turn someday) I'm glad you're finally getting some hands on to use all that fabulous knowledge you've shared :) Keep having good weeks . . .Thinking of you too.
Aren't you too old to have a blood sugar level like that?
I would love to have my blood sugars level at 81 every time I tested. But then again "Not everyone can be as SWEET as me"
Love Aunt Vanetta
