Well, second semester started off with a bang last Thursday (1/3/08)! We had to be there at 7 am until 11 am for a lecture on pregnancy. You know...how it happens and what happens. I had the hardest time not falling asleep! I think I have that subject covered pretty well. Then, at 11:30 that day, I went to orientation for the operating room. We learned a lot of different things about what to expect in the OR, but we didn't get out until 3:30. It made for quite the long day.
The next day, I had to go to the hospital for Mother/Baby orientation at 9 am. The first hour consisted of a video that they have all the new mothers watch before they go home. It was on how to take care of your newborn and breastfeeding. Needless to say, I took a nap. On the way out of the room, one of the other students asked me if I had seen that video before to which I had to tell her no. She told me how she got to see it because her friend had just had a baby and she watched it with her. I just had to tell her that even though I hadn't seen that video, I had experienced it 5 times . We then went around the Mother/Baby, Labor and Delivery, and Nursery floors of the hospital and got acquainted with where things are and what things looked like. I really liked that part!!

I'm so glad to read from you! I like to read about my friends-it helps me stay connected even though I may not get to see you all the time :) Good luck this semester, I know you'll keep being the best nursing student EVER!
Only 3 semesters left!
